In this second solo exhibition by Tilman at Galerie Fontana, the focus is on his new series called White Houses of Color. The exhibition consists of a series of small works made especially for Fontana as well as earlier work by Tilman.

 

Tilman is using form and color as point of departure towards an open artwork functioning as a transmitter of ideas and concerns of intimate or open nature, aims to go beyond the mere formal limitations of a certain abstract aesthetic. 

 

In his works the artist questions one’s often pre-conditioned perception of art and the act of seeing in general. By doing this, he hopes to engage the viewer in a dialog with the work itself and its/his surroundings.
